The heat is on in southern Utah.
Highs in the southwest part of the state, including the St. George area and Zion National Park, are predicted to hit about 100 degrees on Saturday and Sunday. Overnight lows on Saturday and Sunday nights will be in the upper 60s, according to the National Weather Service.
South central Utah is predicted to be slightly cooler, with temperatures rising to around 90 both days and dropping to the low to mid 50s at night.
Northern Utah can expect pleasant weekend weather, with highs in the 80s on Saturday. On Sunday, the forecast calls for a high in the upper 70s along the northern Wasatch Front — including the Salt Lake and Tooele valleys — while the southern Wasatch Front should reach 80 degrees.
At night, temperatures are expected to be from around 50 to the mid 50s.
Highs in the Cache Valley are predicted to be around 80 on Saturday and the mid 70s on Sunday, with lows in the 40s.
