San Diego police have arrested a suspect in the murder of three former Utah County residents.

A 29-year-old was arrested Friday night and booked into a San Diego County Jail under suspicion of three counts of murder, the police department confirmed Saturday.

Ilona Flint, 22, and her fiancé's brother, Salvatore Belvedere, also 22, were gunned down last Christmas Eve outside the Westfield Mission Valley Mall.

Then, on Jan. 17, police found the body of Flint's fiancé, Gianni Belvedere, 24, in the trunk of a car with Utah plates. Gianni Belvedere had been missing since the Christmas Eve shooting, according to the police.

"In the following days, the San Diego Police Department became the lead investigative agency for all of the cases," according to the Saturday news release.

While all three victims were San Diego residents, they had reportedly once attended Provo High School together.

No motives for the slayings have been released.
