The U. announced Tuesday that fourth-year assistant Tommy Connor has been named associate head coach of the Utes.

Connor was a four-year starter at point guard for the Utes and later an assistant under Rick Majerus before joining Larry Krystkowiak's staff for his third run on the hill. In between, he spent 12 years leading Westminster to a 264-114 record as head coach.

"Tommy's experience as a head coach is something that I value greatly, and so I think the time is right to promote him to associate head coach," Krystkowiak said in a release.

Financial terms of the promotion were not immediately available.
