Wilton, Conn. • The oldest golf magazine in America will stop publishing in print next week as Golf World switches entirely to digital delivery.
Golf World first was published in 1947, the year after Ben Hogan won his first major. The magazine is the news division of Golf Digest, which will continue to be printed monthly. Both magazines are published by Conde Nast.
Jerry Tarde, the magazine's chairman, says the Golf World brand has been around for 67 years, and going digital is the best way to preserve it.
