The man who robbed a bookstore at the University of Utah Tuesday morning may be wanted in connection with other armed robberies around Salt Lake City.

A man claiming he had a gun robbed the bookstore of the university's Eccles Health Science Building at 26 S. 2000 East about 11:25 a.m, university officials said.

The description of the robbery matches those of two other robberies that have occurred in Salt Lake since July 20. Moreover, surveillance cameras at each of the locations captured images of a suspect with reddish-brown hair and a goatee.

"It appears to be the same person, but we can't say for certain," said Salt Lake police Detective Greg Wilking.

The suspect is described as a skinny, white male in his twenties with short hair, brown skinny jeans and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call campus police at (801) 585-2677.
