Horse racing: Sweet American Honey wins AQHA Bonus Challenge

Evanston, Wyo. • Sweet American Honey sprinted to the early lead and held on down the stretch to win the $15,150 AQHA Bonus Challenge at Wyoming Downs.

Owned by Gerald Kaul and trained by Travis Lusk, Sweet American Honey was sent off at 5-to-2 in the wagering and defeated runner-up GG Streakin South by 11/2 lengths. Favored Zonic Zoom finished third.

Sweet American Honey, a 4-year-old gelding who was ridden by jockey Tyson Lusk, won for the fourth time in 20 starters. The winner's share of $7,878 bumped his career earnings to $24,066.
