This weekend on TV: 'Red Rock Serenade' is just plain gorgeous

KUED turns its lenses on national parks, delivering stunning images of Arches, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef and Grand Canyon in Red Rock Serenade (Sunday, 12:30 and 7 p.m.) It's accompanied by music of Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Debussy, Dvorak, Mendelssohn, Puccini, Schubert and Tchaikovsky.

Friday on TV ...

The Knick (8, 9 and 10 p.m., Cinemax): There might be a good drama hiding inside this new series about a forward-thinking, drug-addicted doctor in 1900 New York City, but it's obscured by the incredibly gruesome scenes of horrific surgical procedures.
