Utah State linebacker Torrey Green doesn't like how he has landed in a starting role, like any good teammate he hates the fact that Kyler Fackrell suffered a season-ending knee injury against Tennessee. However, he expects to make the most of his opportunity when he starts this Saturday against Idaho State. "Coaches always talk about when someone goes down, you have to step up," he said. "Coach Wells tells us to step up and not flinch and that is what I am going to do." The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Green, who played in seven games last season and filled in for Fackrell after he was hurt in Sunday's game, said he is approaching practice this week with the same mentality he always has. "You have to come in and work hard every day," he said. "The way you practice is how you play and I want to show the guys they can trust me to do whatever I can to help the team." The Riverside, Calif., native said his teammates Nick and Zach Vigil have helped him prepare. "They're always on me making sure I do everything right on and off the field," he said. "I feel like I can go out and play hard and they can rely on me."
