A husband and wife from Beaver died in a car accident early Wednesday.
Darla J. Polhamus, 46, was driving a 2003 BMW 325I south on North Creek Road about 1½ miles north of Beaver, according to a Utah Highway Patrol news release.
She was speeding, which caused her to lose control of the car about 12:30 a.m. The car went off the road to the left, jumped a ditch, went up a dirt embankment, hit a power-pole support cable and rolled twice. Both the driver and the passenger, Polhamus' husband, 46-year-old Howard D. Cox, suffered fatal injuries. Cox was wearing a seat belt, but his wife was not. Alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash.
