Blame it on the squirrel. And while it was a Rocky (Mountain Power) pole the errant rodent shorted out in Eagle Mountain Friday morning, this was not Bullwinkle's flying friend.
No goggles, no aerobatics. Just a plain old, unlucky squirrel, said RMP spokesman Paul Murphy.
The bushy-tailed varmint apparently got stuck between a hot place and a fuse at 4:47 a.m. Friday, triggering an outage that left 3,125 homes and businesses in the dark.
Repair crews were dispatched, going pole to pole before finding the roasted beastie and blown fuse. By 10 a.m., power was completely restored to all affected customers, primarily within the 84005 zip code.
