LOGAN -- The Utah State-Nicholls State game scheduled for Saturday afternoon at Romney Stadium has been cancelled because of the impact of Hurricane Katrina on Louisiana. Nicholls State is located in Thibodaux, La., which is located about 50 miles southwest of storm-ravaged New Orleans.

The Division 1-AA Colonels have 44 players on their preseason roster from Louisiana, including 12 from New Orleans. Eight other Nicholls State players are from Mississippi, which was also hit hard on Monday by the hurricane. As it stands, Utah State will open the season Sept. 10 at Utah.
