A skier who died at Snowbird Ski Resort Sunday has been identified as a 57-year-old Murray man.
Unified Police Detective Ken Hansen said Monday that Jeff Gentry died about 3:20 p.m. Sunday, having lost control during a fast descent and striking his head on a boulder near the bottom of the "Black Diamond" class Chip's Face Run.
Ski Patrol members attempted to revive him, but Gentry, a skier with nearly 40 years experience, was pronounced dead at the scene.
