An El Paso television station reports that former Jazz center Greg Foster will join the UTEP men's basketball staff as a graduate assistant. His boss: former Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Hornets and Southern California coach Tim Floyd.Man, talk about a trail of tears.Ayway, Foster spent four seasons with the Jazz, including 1997 and 1998, when he started a combined total of 61 games and Utah reached the NBA Finals.Foster enjoyed a 13-year career in the NBA, and he won a championship ring with the L.A. Lakers in 2001. That was only a couple of years after he enraged the Laker bench during a game at EnergySolutions Arena.Foster made a crucial basket in the final moments and, as he turned up the floor, he looked over at the Lakers and made a throat-slashing gesture.Foster's enthusiasm was the talk of the post-game locker rooms. Jazz coach Jerry Sloan even talked about it, and how Foster would never do it again.He didn't. Steve Luhm
