Excerpts from a media interview with Utah Jazz center Mehmet Okur conducted Thursday morning, following a shootaround at Energy Solutions Arena.Okur on practicing with the team:I was out there. I did shooting. Kind of post up. Individual. Not one-on-one of five on five, stuff like that. I just wanted to be out there with my teammates. It's been a while, so it felt good.Conditioning being the next stage of his rehab:Of course. I try to do cardio. I'm not doing legs or doing all that for my calf or Achilles, to try to stay on the basketball court. Do running stuff as much as I can. Sometimes I can't really put my 100 percent on the left side. It's not pain. It's more mental. Because it's been six months I've been thinking about, 'Am I going to step on something?' 'If I do this, hopefully it not going to hurt.' Stuff like that. So, I try to get more trust with my leg. More believe I can do it, do a better job at it. So I try to stay on the bike. Cardio, running, shooting basketball. Try to stay in shape. When he thinks he will back:No idea. Hopefully today, tomorrow. I don't want to make people too excited I'm coming back. I don't want to make them, 'Oh, no. He's coming back, like, two months; three months.' I want to take every day seriously. Focus and focus every day. It's nice to be out with the team. Do all that stuff again with the team, not the individual.Missing games:This is the first surgery and the worst surgery. Hopefully last one. It is what it is. I can't really go back and think about what happened. I've got to look forward to get better every day. Try to get back on the floor with my teammates as fast as I can. But I want to be smart at the same time. I don't want to push or rush anything to rehurt or something else. I don't want to do that. I just want to be smart about it, and at the same time work hard; hopefully go from there.— Brian T. Smithbsmith@sltrib.comTwitter: tribjazz
