"Like Crazy"U.S. Dramatic competition, Grand Jury Prize winner*** 1/2Romantic feelings are universal, but the underpinnings of those emotions are always specific and unique. Director Drake Doremus understands this, and he imbues this tender, heartbreaking romance with pinpoint details of a young couple's journey through love. Jacob ("Star Trek's" Anton Yelchin) and Anna (Felicity Jones) are college students who fall in love — so much so that Anna, a Brit, overstays her student visa. A brief trip home to see the parents (Alex Kingston, Oliver Muirhead) gets complicated when she's not allowed back in the U.S. Can true love deal with time zone differences, and the closer-to-home temptations (represented by "Winter's Bone" star Jennifer Lawrence and Charlie Bewley). Doremus made last year's biting comedy-drama "Douchebag," but here he makes a radically different film: Intimate, precise, perfectly acted, irony-free and heartbreakingly authentic.

"Like Crazy" screens again at: Sunday, Jan. 20, at 3:30 p.m. at the Eccles Theatre, Park City.
