Rep. Chris Herrod, R-Provo, who wants the Utah Legislature to oversee KUED-Ch. 7's budget but has never talked to anyone at the station about that, will do so on Thursday. On the radio.

Herrod is scheduled to be a guest on KRCL FM-90.9 at 6 p.m. He'll be joined by Michael Dunn, KUED's general manager, along with Patricia de Stacy Harrison, the president and CEO of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

The state contributes $2 million a year toward KUED's budget. Herrod, who has expressed concern about the "slant" of shows like "NewsHour," wants to put Ch. 7's entire budget (about $10 millon) under the Legislature's control.
