Utah Valley University students from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today through March 25 will fold thousands of origami paper cranes"as a gesture of hope for the safety of the victims of the recent disasters in Japan," according to a news release.
Student members of the UVU Japan Club and the International Student Council organized the event as a fundraiser for relief efforts aimed at the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
The students, who will make the cranes in UVU's Hall of Flags and near Room WB147 of the Woodbury Business Building, will sell each for $1.
