A Utah Parks and Recreation employee sustained minor injuries when an out-of-control car slid on icy Interstate 15 and collided with his parked state vehicle Tuesday.
Iron County Sheriff's Deputy Doug Twitchell said the accident occurred about 7:45 a.m. after the Parks and Recreation employee pulled over onto the inside emergency lane on northbound I-15 roughly midway between Cedar City and Beaver. He was helping another motorist who had just been involved in a collision with a semi-trailer rig.

"He was knocked down into the median but not seriously injured. He waited for the Utah Highway Patrol to arrive and then was taken to Beaver Valley Hospital [in Cedar City] for treatment of a bruised leg," Twitchell said.
The male driver of the out-of-control car who was cited for traveling too fast for road conditions and two male passengers were not seriously injured either, but were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Twitchell also said the drivers of the car and semi also were not seriously injured.
