Corbin's talk with Jefferson doesn't go far

Jazz center Al Jefferson joked about it. Coach Tyrone Corbin said that the issue had been repaired. And both of them said they were moving on.

The Band Aid worked for about 10 hours.

Corbin spoke Sunday with Jefferson about the big man's last-minute ejection Saturday during a home loss to Dallas, expressing his displeasure with Jefferson's unprofessional actions.

"That's not who we are. We're disappointed," said Corbin, prior to the Jazz's 100-95 overtime home loss to the Washington Wizards on Monday. "If you happen to get a tech, get the tech and get it over with. Don't drag it out and make it look like a spectacle."

Meanwhile, Big Al initially made light of the conversation.

"He said something to me about it but I really done forgot," Jefferson said. "It was just like, don't make a big deal about it, because y'all was going to ask questions and try to … get me to say a lot of things that I shouldn't have said."

By game time, though, a divide had again appeared between the coach and star. Jefferson was held out of the fourth quarter and overtime as Corbin turned to three Jazz rookies in the attempt to keep Utah's faltering playoff hopes alive.

A doctor appointment scheduled for Monday evening was expected to give Jazz point guard Devin Harris a better idea about his status for the remainder of the season.

Harris missed his fourth consecutive contest due to a strained right hamstring. He went through pregame shooting warmups, but left the arena before tipoff.

Harris plans to return to action before the end of the season. But his hamstring is still troubling him, and he has yet to test it at full speed.

"I'm just trying to get back on the court, just to do some basketball stuff," Harris said. "I'm sick of the hot tubs and massages."

Feeling weird

Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko was seen for the first time in three games, but his appearance was not promising.

Kirilenko (bruised nerve left knee) hobbled on crutches while signing memorabilia. He said that his injury is improving daily, but he cannot feel the left side of his leg and just recently began to have feeling in his foot.
