No, Adam, you're not working for CBS

Would somebody at KUTV please tell sportscaster Adam Mikulich that he doesn't work for CBS?

On Saturday night, Mikulich told Channel 2 viewers that the Real Salt Lake-New England Revolution game earlier that evening had aired on "CBS Sports." Actually, it aired on KUTV. Which is a CBS affiliate. But it is not CBS. Nor is it owned by CBS.

I've had to explain to quite a number of people over the past couple of decades that just because a program airs on a network affiliate doesn't make it a network program. Could be a local show. Could be syndicated.

This is the first time I've noticed someone who works for a local network affiliate struggle with that distinction.

And, while I'm being snarky, perhaps someone could point out to Mikulich that using the terms "Chi-town" and "Beantown" in the same sportscast - using them at all - is not a good thing.
