The Post-Star newspaper in Glens Falls, N.Y., reports that Brigham Young University basketball star Jimmer Fredette has stopped going to classes at the LDS Church-owned school in Provo.

And in this case, it apparently is BYU that has requested Jimmer avoid the classroom. So, Jimmer will be doing all of his course work online from now on.

"It was getting too disruptive," Al Fredette, Jimmer's father, told The Post-Star that his son's fame on BYU's campus means he "can't go anywhere in Provo without being recognized" and deluged with requests for autographs.

Jimmer, who has earned almost every major collegiate basketball "player of the year" honor out there, is expected soon to select an agent to represent his NBA aspirations.

The NBA draft is set for June 23. Jimmer is expected to be picked early in the first round.
