YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. • The southern entrance to Yellowstone National Park opens on Friday.

The National Park Service says opening the southern entrance will allow spring visitors from the Jackson area to visit Old Faithful and other attractions.

The northern and western entrances to the park opened on April 15 and the eastern entrance opened May 6.

The Park Service says spring visitors to the park should be prepared for cold temperatures, high winds and snow. Deep snow may make walking on trails difficult or impossible for several more weeks.
