I think the Legislature again missed the opportunity to deal with the problems of distracted driving. Specifically the use of cell phones while driving.

While I realize why the members of the Legislature find it convenient to use cell phones, how can they not recognize that the use of cell phones while driving is far more dangerous than drunken driving, according to many research studies made by recognized institutions.

While I recognize the Legislature's lack of courage demonstrated because of their personal use, I am baffled to reason why they passed things like reducing blood alcohol limits while driving to 0.05, eliminating automobile inspection and allowing 18-year-olds to carry concealed weapons.

What a shame to have priorities so mixed up.
