The recently opened Hurst Center for Continuing Education on Weber State University's campus in Ogden is proud to have earned a LEED Silver Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED is the nation's pre-eminent program for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.

Colocation data center and bandwidth provider C7 Data Centers, Inc. (C7) has announced the addition of Level 3 Communications to its portfolio of Tier-1 carriers. Level 3 is recognized as a leading provider of global, fiber-based communications, operating a Tier-1 carrier network. With the addition of Level 3's global network services to C7's existing carrier pool, C7 will be able to provide better routes, greater diversity and lower costs to its clients.

Holland & Hart's Salt Lake City office has been named the "Utah Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year" by the Utah State Bar. This annual award is given to a Utah law firm that demonstrates a commitment to the community through significant pro bono efforts. In 2010, 51 attorneys in Holland & Hart's Salt Lake City office provided over 8,100 hours of professional and pro bono public services. This number represents pro bono services provided by 100 percent of the attorneys working in Holland & Hart's Salt Lake office in 2010.

Avalon Health Care Inc., a Utah-based provider of health-related services for patients throughout the Western United States, has recently purchased a 40,500-square-foot office building for its headquarters at 206 N. 2100 West in Salt Lake City. Avalon purchased the building from International Commercial Properties LLC. In addition, Avalon traded its net equity in its existing downtown building and restaurant as a credit toward its down payment on the new building.

BNA Consulting has again been recognized by the Intermountain Electrical Association and awarded the Outstanding Electrical Engineering Firm of the Year for 2011.

HKD, a Massachusetts snowmaking company whose products have been used at Deer Valley and Canyons resorts, has merged with the Canadian company Turbocristal, whose snowmaking system is employed at Eagle Point ski resort above the southwestern Utah town of Beaver, to form HKD Turbo.

Intrepid, a Salt Lake City-based hybrid communications firm, has been named by Taubman Centers as public relations agency of record for City Creek Center, the retail component of the City Creek mixed-use development. Intrepid will provide strategy, media relations, event coordination and messaging for the approximately 800,000-square-foot new shopping and dining center.
