Fabian Law attorney Rachel Terry has been appointed to the board of directors for the March of Dimes, Utah chapter. She practices appellate law and complex commercial litigation with an emphasis on litigation arising from business torts, contract rights, mining and utilities and real property.

Matthew Lindon, a hydrological engineer with more than 30 years of experience, is now on the staff of Park City-based Loughlin Water Associates LLC. He has 25 years experience as a dam-safety engineer and assistant state engineer of technical services at the Utah Division of Water Rights.

Megan Wolthuis Grunander has joined Ogden Clinic as the fourth member of its general-surgery team. Grunander will perform surgeries at the area's local hospitals.

Concordia Preparatory School, formerly known as Salt Lake Lutheran High School, has named Darren Morrison as interim principal. He was assistant principal and athletic director from 2009-11.

The law firm of Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy has selected John A. Snow as the Utah State Bar's chairman for the Ethics Advisory Opinion Committee. He oversees requests for advisory opinions on ethical issues and conduct of Bar members. Snow is a member of Van Cott's litigation section.

 J. Bryan Washburn, co-general agent of the Salt Lake City office of the Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co., has received the General Agents and Managers Association (GAMA) International Management Award at the Diamond level.

Intermountain Financial Group, the Utah Agency of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co., has hired Mandy Aguirre as its recruiting director.

Realtor Tammy Henderson is now the resident short-sale specialist at Weichert, Realtors' St. George office. She directs sellers to foreclosure-avoidance options and assists buyers of foreclosed properties.

Black Diamond Inc. has added seven people to senior management positions at the Holladay-based maker of outdoor recreation gear. Brad Barlage is climbing-line sales manager. Laura Fryer is director of marketing for Black Diamond Equipment's team in the Salt Lake City area. Ryan Gellert was promoted to vice president of supply chain. Bob Jones was brought in to become direct-to-consumer sales director. Linda Karz will manage the new Black Diamond retail store. Rosalie Mark will become vice president of human resources. Saskia Stock joined the company as managing director for Europe.

Local remodeling professionals Jeremy Jackson and Brandon LeRoy from Jackson & LeRoy Remodeling have been awarded Professional Remodeler magazine's "40 Under 40" award and were featured on the cover of the magazine's July 2011 issue.

Brent Davies is the new chief financial officer at Salt Lake City-based America West Resources, which owns and operates the Horizon coal mine in Carbon County. He had been CEO of the certified public accounting firm Robison, Hill & Co. for 10 years.

C.R. England has hired Jeff Vanderlinden as a facility manager, Marco Villano and Melissa Bain as senior driver recruiters, Tiffany Brewster as a customer manager for the Intermodal Division and Jaymie Morton as a driver payroll clerk.

Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton has added attorney Benjamin Holt as an associate to the firm's electronics and software team in the intellectual property department in the firm's Walnut Creek office. Holt is a registered patent attorney and currently serves as chairman of the cyberlaw section of the Utah State Bar.

Westminster College has appointed Linda Muir as director for the Institute for New Enterprise.  She manages day-to-day details of the institute, including fundraising activities, sponsor relations, development of entrepreneurial programs, marketing and mentor recruitment. 

The Utah Democratic Party has appointed Matt Lyon to serve as executive director. In addition, Todd Taylor will continue as senior political and strategic adviser. Lyon has previously served as campaign manager for Mayor Ralph Becker's re-election campaign and deputy campaign manager and finance director for Corroon for Governor. Taylor has served as the party's executive director for 17 years. He is immediate past president of the Association of State Democratic Executive Directors.

Joey Pesner has been named executive chef at Zermatt Resort in Midway. He will oversee all menu and concept development, special events and staff training at the resort. He comes to Utah from Captiva Island, Fla., where he served as executive chef of South Seas Island Resort.
