Sen. Orrin Hatch's assertion that Obamacare health insurance plan recipients are on the government dole and will "take every dime they can" shows how shockingly out of touch Utah's senior senator is.

Health care is a basic human right and Obamacare, imperfect as it may be, has helped millions of Americans get proper health insurance coverage. Furthermore, by the way Hatch acts, you would think the American people were pulling off some major heist. Obamacare is funded by taxpayer dollars.

It's incredible for Hatch to complain about the evils of the government dole, considering that he has been on the dole longer than I've been alive, having received a government salary and benefits since 1977. These comments, coupled with other recent statements, show that it is past time for Hatch to retire and be replaced by someone who can show more sensitivity, common sense and compassion toward working-class Utahns.
