Real Salt Lake general manager Garth Lagerwey almost guaranteed that the team will lose a player to the 2011 MLS Expansion Draft, which will take place on Nov. 23 for the expansion team Montreal Impact.Like all teams, RSL will be allowed to protect 11 players as well as 17-year-old Luis Gil, a Generation Adidas player. Generation Adidas players who have not graduated from the by the end of the 2011 season are not automatically protected. So are Donny Toia and Nico Muñiz, who are "homegrown" players on the team's off-budget roster. The protected 11 are just about set."It's not as difficult as you think," RSL president Bill Manning said. "We pretty much know who the 11 are right now. One or two we may switch, but we feel pretty good about the 11."Team need to submit their protected rosters to MLS on Nov. 21.martyr@sltrib.comTwitter:Rsltribune
