A 25-year-old Cedar City man has been booked into jail on charges he raped a minor he met on a social media website.

Police Sgt. JR Robinson said Andrew Anthony Lue was arrested and booked into jail Thursday. He is charged with one count of forcible sodomy, one count of object rape, two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, one count of enticing a minor over the Internet, and three counts of dealing in harmful material to a minor.

Robinson said in a news release that the victim, whose name and gender were not released, went to police to report an incident that began with a "benign" communication through the website that over time became a cell phone conversation.

Lue allegedly made plans to meet the victim at a party in Cedar City where the minor was supplied "copious" amounts of alcohol before being assaulted.

Investigators served search warrants on homes and a vehicle in Cedar City as part of their investigation.

Lue was in jail Friday on an $80,000 bond.
