Donovan seeks to end playoff drought

Landon Donovan can't believe it has been since 2005 that the L.A. Galaxy won their last MLS Cup.Beginning in 2001 with San Jose, Donovan lifted the championship trophy every other season. He followed 2001 with another in 2003 with San Jose and then 2005 with L.A.The Galaxy missed the playoffs in 2007 and were beaten by Real Salt Lake in 2009."It feels longer, to be honest," Donovan told reporters Saturday. "There were some bad years here and there's been some good years, but we've had disappointing finishes to each of the last two seasons."TAYLOR TO START FOR DAVISHouston defender Jermaine Taylor will start for midfielder Brad Davis on Sunday.Taylor substituted for Davis in the 39th minute of the Dynamo's Eastern Conference Championship against Sporting Kansas City.
