As the Memorial Day holiday approaches and anglers get excited to get out fishing, the Division of Wildlife Resources offers one of the most useful websites for Utah angling.

Go to www.wildlife.utah.gov/hotspots for current, detailed fishing reports throughout the state.

The site offers the latest fishing reports divided into northern, central, northeastern, southeastern and southern regions as well as a separate tab for Lake Powell.

A map is used with legends telling anglers where fishing is hottest, good, fair, slow or currently inaccessible.

The site also offers general fishing information on Utah, a tab for the fishing guidebook that provides regulations and another tab to purchase a license.

Anglers can sign up to receive a weekly email report, find fishing hot spots and, perhaps most useful, see where the DWR has stocked fish recently.
