The trailer for "The Invisible War" lays out some harrowing information:

• More than 1,600 female members of the military are raped or sexually assaulted every year.

• Only 8 percent of those crimes are ever prosecuted, and only 2 percent result in a conviction.

• Those who rape within the military often continue to assault women and children in civilian life.

The trailer also shows snippets of interviews with servicewomen who were rape victims, and then victimized again by a military system that used denial and intimidation to silence them.

If there was a ready-made topic for documentary filmmaker Kirby Dick — who has exposed the cover-up of an abusive Catholic priest ("Twist of Faith") and the hypocrisy of the movie ratings system ("This Film Is Not Yet Rated") — this is the one.
