A teacher at a Granite School District elementary school is facing a child abuse charge for allegedly hitting a student with her violin bow during a music class, according to court documents.
In September, an 11-year-old student at 2567 S. Main St. played his instrument out of turn. That is when the teacher hit the student on the right thigh with her bow. The student said the strike caused a little pain and left a mark.
Afterward, the teacher told him, "Sorry for hitting you, I was frustrated," the charges state.
The teacher was charged with one count of child abuse, a class A misdemeanor.
