The annual Draper Christmas Festival kicks off Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Hidden Valley Shopping Center, 1166 E. Draper Parkway (12300 South), Draper.

The event boasts three days of entertainment, shopping booths and holiday-themed events for the whole family. Musical groups perform today from 3 to 9 p.m. — but the headliner, Santa Claus, will make an appearance from 6 to 8 p.m.

More entertainment will be provided Friday from 3 to 9 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Saturday's big event is the 10 a.m. journey of Santa, riding a city fire engine around Draper before arriving at Hidden Valley to pass out treats to children.

There's also a raffle drawing, and a coloring contest for the kids.

The event, presented by the Draper Community Foundation, is free to the public. Go to http://www.draperchristmasfestival.org for details.
