'Saturday Night Live' mocks Tebow and Mormons

It wasn't a great sketch by any means - which is probably why it came at the end of the show - but "Saturday Night Live" managed to mock Tim Tebow and Mormonism in the same 4-minute bit on this past weekend's show.

The sketch featured quarterback Tim Tebow (Taran Killam) and the Denver Broncos celebrating their sixth-consecutive win when Jesus Christ (Jason Sudeikis) appeared. Faux Tebow was, of course, beyond excited, but faux Jesus told the players they had to do more themselves because he couldn't keep saving them.

He also told them they were in trouble against the Patriots, as turned out to be the case a day later.

The highlight of the sketch came when faux Jesus told faux Tebow to "take it down a notch" with all his public displays of piety.

The weird part of the sketch was right at the end, when faux Jesus said, "Oh, by the way - Mormonism? All true. Every word."

It was obviously intended as a joke. Although, other than among members of the faith, it probably didn't make much of an impression.
