The trailer for "Pursuit of Loneliness" should come with a warning: If you have tears, prepare to shed them.
Director Laurence Thrush's black-and-white movie takes place over a 24-hour period at a county hospital. An elderly patient has died, leaving no known next of kin. The movie then follows four characters as they try to locate a family member, to tell them this person has died.
The moments in the trailer are quietly moving, and raise hopes that the movie will be thoughtful and emotionally affecting.
"Pursuit of Loneliness" will debut in the NEXT program at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.
