Damian Lillard scored 38 points to lead Weber State to an 88-81 victory over Portland State on Saturday night in Portland, Ore.
Lillard, the nation's leading scorer, hit 8 of 14 from the 3-point line for the Wildcats (12-3, 4-0 Big Sky). Teammate Scott Bamforth added 21 points.
Chehales Tapscott led Portland State (7-9, 1-3) with 26 points and Nate Lozeau had 13 points.
Weber State battled back from a 15-point first half deficit and tied the score 71-71 after Lillard hit his eighth 3-pointer of the night with 8:27 left to play. The Wildcats went up 78-75 on a runner by Jordan Richardson with 4:35 remaining, then closed out the Vikings by holding them to just one field goal in the final four minutes.
North Dakota State 72, Southern Utah 69 (OT) • SUU forced overtime when Tyson Koehler scored his only two points of the game from the free-throw line with 25 seconds left in regulation, but Taylor Braun scored the go-ahead basket with 17 seconds remaining in overtime to give the Bison the victory in Cedar City.
Ray Jones Jr. led the Thunderbirds (7-9, 2-4 Summit) with 15 points. Ramell Taylor and Damon Heuir each added 12 points for the Thunderbirds, and Jackson Stevenett scored 11 before fouling out.
Braun posted 29 points and 11 rebounds, and made 12 of 14 free throws for North Dakota State (11-4, 4-2).
Utah Valley 77, Seattle 72 • Isiah Williams scored 22 points to propel UVU (8-10) in Orem.
Montana Western 69, Westminster 64 • Jake Orchard scored 21 points, but the Griffins faltered in Dillon, Mont., for their third straight loss. Ben Walker added 10 points and six rebounds for Westminster (12-6, 0-2 Frontier).
North Idaho 74, SLCC 66 • Darian Cartharn scored 17 points for Salt Lake Community College (13-4, 0-2 Scenic West), which trailed by as much as 23 points in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
