The Associated Press is reporting that Murray native David Archuleta says he's "excited" about working on a Philippine TV series:

His Filipino co-stars Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Eula Caballero welcomed him with flower garlands at Manila's airport Friday. They'll be shooting the TV5 drama the next few weeks.

Fans and journalists jostled to take pictures as the 20-year-old singer emerged from the airport gate.

In December, Archuleta, 21, announced that he would be leaving his singing career behind for a while as he prepares to leave for a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I guess he's not leaving for the mission in the next few weeks.
