Jazz forward Josh Howard (strained left quad) and guard Jamaal Tinsley (dermatitis) won't practice Wednesday.

Forward Derrick Favors (sprained right ankle) will resume action and plans to play Thursday against Dallas.

"I'm going to try to get a work in today and I'll see how it feels. Give it a go," Favors said.

Howard doesn't think he'll be able to take the court against the Mavs, saying he can't risk further injury.

"It's a day-to-day thing. ... I'll continue to do my rehab. I'll strengthen it as much as I can 'til it feels better," Howard said.

Coach Tyrone Corbin's prepractice message Wednesday to his team, which blew out the Los Angeles Clippers 108-79 Tuesday: "We're getting better, guys. But we've got to continue to push each other and get better as a team."
