Utah State commit Paul Franklin, a highly touted running back out of Texas, won't be an Aggie, the Tribune has learned.

Franklin, who committed two weeks ago, entertained a home visit from UTEP on Monday. He didn't inform the Utah State coaching staff, which caused Gary Andersen to cancel his scheduled home visit on Wednesday night.

Franklin was expected to come into camp and compete for time at a running back spot that has just one major contributer from last season, Kerwynn Williams, returning.

Andersen has been busy this week, going on in-home visits in Florida to start the week. He will be in Texas tonight, and he will visit Arizona tomorrow, before returning to campus.

Signing day is next Wednesday.
