Utah State's Preston Medlin has been named the Western Athletic Conference men's basketball player of the week, the school announced Monday.

The 6-foot-4 sophomore played some of his best basketball of the season as the Aggies faced a critical road stretch. Medlin averaged 20 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal per game in wins over Hawaii and San Jose State. He also shot 47.6 percent from the field and went 15-for-16 from the line.

It is Medlin's first WAC player of the week award. He ranks fourth in the conference in 3-point shooting percentage at 43 percent, and boasts a 1.68 assist-to-turnover ratio, good for fifth in the WAC.
