Moderate quake rattles remote northeastern Nevada

A 4.3 magnitude earthquake rattled a remote region of northeastern Nevada's desert and western Utah Wednesday morning, but no damage was reported.
The U.S. Geological Survey described the temblor, registered at 7:40 a.m. Mountain time, as shallow in nature. The epicenter was 14 miles southwest of Wells, Nevada, where a 6.0-magnitude quake had caused extensive property damage on Feb. 21, 2008.
Wednesday's seismic event was approximately 166 miles west of Salt Lake City, and reportedly felt along the state's western mountains.
