Utah's Huntsman Corp. names Jon Huntsman Jr. to board

Huntsman Corp., the worldwide chemicals conglomerate based out of Salt Lake City and The Woodlands, Texas, said it has appointed Jon Huntsman Jr. to its board of directors.
The appointment was effective Feb. 1.
Huntsman, 51, is a former candidate for the Republican nomination for president of the Uniwted States. After his withdrawal from that race, he was named to succeed his father, Jon M. Huntsman Sr., as chairman of the Huntsman Cancer Foundation, which supports the University of Utah's Huntsman Cancer Institute.
The Huntsman board comprises 10 directors, six of whom are independent.
