Lone Peak senior left-hander Seth Corry helped the Knights reach the Class 5A state title game, and he was rewarded by being named the Gatorade Utah Baseball Player of the Year on Tuesday.
Corry finished 8-1 with a 2.29 ERA over 52 innings. He struck out 97, walked 33 and threw one no-hitter, which came March 29 against Lehi.
Corry is ranked No. 23 nationally in his class by Perfect Game. He has committed to pitch at BYU.
Corry batted. 315 with 11 homers and 32 RBIs.
"Seth Corry is built with all the tools that are needed to be a successful player," Lone Peak coach Matt Bezzant said in a release. "There is power and strength in every portion of his game. He is definitely a very special player."
