An Ogden man was in the Weber County jail Tuesday following his arrest in an alleged beating that left a 9-month-old boy in critical condition.

Jail records show that Apolinar Tzontecomani Flores, 37, was being held without bail on suspicion of first-degree felony aggravated attempted murder and intentional child abuse, a second-degree felony.

Flores was arrested by police Monday night after he and the boy's mother took the boy to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden; the child later was taken by medical helicopter to Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City. The boy reportedly suffered severe head injuries.
