When Jean-Louis Montecot's Park City restaurant closed a few months ago, I wondered where this outspoken French chef would land.
Looks like Jean-Louis has found his way into the Salt Lake valley where he is launching a new upscale French restaurant called Caterina.
It will be located in the old Sugarhouse Post Office at 2155 S. Highland Dr. Most recently, the building has been the Cucina Nassi banquet/special event hall.
To introduce diners to Caterina, Montecot is offering a five-course Valentine's day dinner with live music and dancing on Tuesday, Feb. 14. Cost is $75 per person. Tax, tip and wine or beverages are not included.
Montecot said the menu was inspired by the foods and tastes of both Europe and Africa and will include lobster bisque, roulade of cheeses, his signature salad, a "duo platter" that includes beef medallions and halibut and a chocolate dessert.
