A man was stabbed in a robbery Monday evening in Salt Lake City, police said.

The victim, 51, reported that he drove to a spot near 400 S. Redwood Road about 5 p.m. to meet a long-time acquaintance and another man, said Salt Lake City police Sgt. Shawn Josephson. When he arrived, the man accompanying the victim's acquaintance stabbed the victim and took his money, Josephson said. The acquaintance then took the car that the victim was driving.

The victim is expected to survive, and the stolen car was recovered, Josephson said.

The two men suspected in the robbery have not been found. A woman also was in the assailants' car, but she is not believed to have been involved in the attack.

Police were not releasing suspect descriptions pending further investigation.
