In their first meeting in Provo since 2013, BYU and Utah will play football long into the night on Sept. 9, 2017.
ESPN announced Wednesday that it will televise the rivalry game at LaVell Edwards Stadium on either ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU. The game will begin at approximately 8:15 p.m. MDT.
Utah won 20-13 the last time the teams met at LES, holding Taysom Hill and company out of the end zone late to preserve the win.
Also Wednesday, BYU announced broadcast plans and kickoff times for three other games.
The season opener on Aug. 26 against the Portland State Vikings will begin at 1 p.m. and will be televised by ESPN.
The Sept. 16 game in Provo against Wisconsin will begin at 1:30 p.m. MDT and will be televised by either ABC or ESPN.
Specific networks for the Utah and Wiscy games will be announced after the games on Sept. 2.
BYUtv always gets to televise one BYU home game per year, and with FCS foe Portland State taken by ESPN, the school's own network will get the Nov. 18 game pitting BYU and UMass. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. for that one.
Wednesday's announcement means broadcast plans for 10 of BYU's 13 games have been finalized.
Remaining games with broadcast plans yet to be announced include the Oct. 14 game at Mississippi State, the Oct. 21 game at East Carolina and the Oct. 28 game in Provo against San Jose State.
