A Grantsville man remained in critical condition Tuesday, three days after being stabbed during an apparent family fight.

Grantsville police Lt. Steve Barrett, saying the investigation was ongoing, did not release the victim's identity other than to indicate he was believed to be in his mid-20s. Another man was arrested and booked into Tooele County jail on suspicion of attempted homicide. His identity also was not immediately available.

Barrett said the stabbing came as an alcohol-fueled altercation came to head about 8 p.m. Saturday near 300 West and Main Street in Grantsville.

The victim was flown by medical helicopter to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, where he underwent surgery to remove several inches of damaged intestines, Barrett said.
