Timpanogos and Mountain Crest interview extras (VIDEO)

Timpanogos and Mountain Crest were two big winners in yesterday's 4A quarterfinals, both knocking off No. 1 seeds. The Timberwolves beat out Bonneville in a tightly contested defensive battle, and senior guard Mercedes Riggs talked about moving on to the semis after the game.

Mountain Crest got back to the semifinals by knocking out Salem Hills with a big third quarter. The effort was led by senior Karlee Kartchner, who finished with 23 points and 16 rebounds.

Kartchner also celebrated a major achievement last week when she committed to play basketball at Utah Valley University. Coach Candace Thornton said the Mustang star would have to wait until April's signing period to make it official, but that she was very excited to be joining UVU.
