The widow of Ogden agent Jared Francom was not among those officers and family members honored by the Legislature this week due to an apparent miscommunication.
Senate Majority Leader Scott Jenkins said he was shocked to learn that Erin Francom had said she was not invited to ceremonies Wednesday, where lawmakers in both the House and Senate offered tearful praise to the Ogden law enforcement officers involved in a drug raid where Francom was killed and five other officers were wounded.
Jenkins called Erin Francom on Thursday and apologized for what he said was an oversight. He invited her to bring the couple's children to the Senate on Tuesday so they can be recognized "so the girls will remember that."
House Majority Leader Brad Dee, R-Ogden, said efforts were made to invite everyone involved and he's not sure how she was missed.
